Chris Low (12:59 PM)
I'm ready to go as we head down the home stretch of the season.
Matt (Houston,Texas)
What do you think is the key for lsu to beating the tide in alabama this weekend? Geaux Tigers!
Chris Low (1:04 PM)
Making Alabama one-dimensional on offense and forcing McElroy to beat them throwing the ball.
Jay (Daytona Beach)
What are your thoughts of Tim Tebow and the Heisman...where would u put him and what are his odds to get another?
Chris Low (1:05 PM)
I'd say Tebow put himself right back in the race with his game against Georgia. It's really going to be anybody's to win, and the player who has a breakout performance these next few weeks may win it. Maybe it comes down to Tebow and Mark Ingram in the SEC Championship Game.
Tim (Tampa, FL)
How do you feel about Brandon Spikes being suspended for 1 HALF? Is this enough for the unsportsmanlike play of eye gouging?
Chris Low (1:09 PM)
No, I think it's a complete joke that he only got a half
David (MS)
Even though Miss State probab isnt making a bowl game I gotta say Mullen has me impressed but the qb position has to improve... do you think he will be able to do that
Chris Low (1:10 PM)
Dan Mullen has done an excellent job with that program, and he's chosen not to rush freshman Tyler Russell into the fray. Russell is redshirting, and Mullen will try to get him ready for next year.
Virginia (charlotte)
Both Teams play well..give me a percentage LSU has of winning vs bama?
Chris Low (1:15 PM)
40 percent. The homefield advantage will be big. Remember, though, the Tigers weren't playing all that well last year and nearly beat the Tide.
Zev (Cincinnati,OH)
Why does cincinnati still get no respect after dominating almost all of their opponents...even schlabach said we wouldnt run the table....does he really lack confidence in an offense that is among the top in the ENTIRE NATION
Chris Low (1:17 PM)
Bearcats will get their due if they keep winning and will also get a shot on a big stage in a BCS bowl. But they're not going to pass an unbeaten Texas, Florida, Alabama or even Iowa to play in the national title game. They're going to need help.
Chris (Alabama)
Do you see Alabama and Florida being the two powerhouse teams for the foreseeable future in the SEC?
Chris Low (1:18 PM)
Yes, although I'd watch Tennessee. Lane Kiffin is recruiting really well and the Vols have held their own this year against teams that were more talented. I don't see LSU going away, either.
Casey (Santa Clarita, CA)
I think the Brandon Spikes incident could have more to it. We have him on camera but it might have been retaliation which I think would be easy for a player to do. I do not condone retaliation but I would say that is different than just doing.
Chris Low (1:20 PM)
You're right. We don't know what was done the play before, the series before, what was said, etc. Still, nothing justifies a player doing after somebody's eyes. That's the essence of dirty football. He should have been suspended for an entire game.
Ben Tate (Auburn, AL)
Chris, is Bama's record the reason that Ingram is getting Heisman love and I'm getting none? Granted, Ingram missed his first two games, but I'm leading the SEC in rushing with an offensive line that has played just O.K. overall.
Chris Low (1:22 PM)
You know, Ben, you have a point. It's a fact that players on top-ranked teams always get a little more love in the Heisman voting. Ingram has still been the best player I've seen in the SEC this year, but you're not too far behind. And neither is your buddy Anthony Dixon, who rambled for 252 yards last week.
Jacob (Fort Worth)
Do you think there is anyway TCU goes undefeated and gets left out of a BCS game? If so, won't it be a PR nightmare for the BCS?
Chris Low (1:26 PM)
The key is finishing ahead of Boise State in the final BCS standings. So, yes, it could happen if they both stay unbeaten and Boise State is higher in the final BCS standings.
Chris (Clearwater)
Even if Bama struggles on offense, Does LSU have what it takes to move the ball against that Bama Defense? Remember as bad as bama has been the last few weeks Lsu has not been much better, and this will be one of the best defenses they face. What do you think?
Chris Low (1:28 PM)
What I think is that we're in store for another 17-13 or 20-17 type of game. LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson has played a little better the last two weeks, but he was totally ineffective against Florida's defense. Bama's defense is just as good. The Tigers have to mix it up, get Shepard involved, get the ball to LaFell and not forget about Charles Scott. For LSU to win, the Tigers' offensive line has to have its best game of the year.
Kiel (Iowa)
What do you think about the Hawkeyes? They seem to play at the level of competition. They beat tough teams on the road (Penn St, Wisconsin, and Mich St.). Sure they don't get the style points and blow teams out, but its difficult to pick them to lose a game. Do you think that a team could actually blow them out-or would they have a shot (and another close game) with the top teams (Florida, Texas, Alabama)?
Chris Low (1:30 PM)
I think this is one of those years where anything could happen in a one-game national title showdown. I just don't see one dominant team out there. I see four, five or six teams that all have some holes, but are also capable of being pretty good on their best day.
Robby (Atlanta)
Chris, Not being bias, but I think Georgia Tech is the best 1 loss team in the nation. Just wanted to get your thoughts on who you thought the best 1 loss team was and are Tech or you choice better than undefeated TCU and Boise St? Thanks
Chris Low (1:33 PM)
I think it's a close race between Georgia Tech and Oregon right now. I do believe the Yellow Jackets are the team nobody in the country wants to play right now because of how difficult they are to prepare for in a week. That offense is a bear to deal with.
Jim Crozier (Boise, Idaho)
Come on Chris. You can't let Jacob's comment about it being a PR nightmare for TCU to be excluded pass without mentioning that if BSU got passed over it would be the THIRD undefeated season for the Broncos with no BCS invite and the second year in a row. How is THAT not a PR nightmare for the BCS?
Chris Low (1:34 PM)
I would say Boise and TCU would both have legitimate gripes this year if they stay unbeaten. But here's the deal: We're going to keep having these arguments until the system changes, and I don't see it changing (ie a playoff) for several years.
JP (Tualatin, OR)
Do you think with all the problems in officiating this year even using replay do you think the SEC will lead the way in calling for a national association to handle officials in the future and take itself out of the ethical quagmire it puts all conferences in?
Chris Low (1:36 PM)
Great question. I think it's probably time that conferences get out of the officiating business, if for nothing else, to eliminate any hint of what you're talking about.
nick (cincinnati, oh)
if florida, bama, iowa, and texas all lose at least once and uc wins out should they be in the nc
Chris Low (1:37 PM)
If those four teams all lose, I believe Cincinnati would be in great shape to play for the national title, especially now that USC has lost a second game.
Casey (Santa Clarita, CA)
I remember the play win Spikes had his helmet knocked off and the Georgia player seem to have purposely hit him in the head.
Chris Low (1:38 PM)
Spikes told Meyer he was retaliating for getting his eye poked earlier. But it doesn't matter. It's the kind of thing you just don't do.
J Crompton (Knoxville)
Am I the SEC comeback player of the year?
Chris Low (1:40 PM)
Jonathan, you and your teammate, Montario Hardesty, are both good candidates.
Sonny (Boise, ID)
What happems with the BCS when Oregon jumps ahead of BSU in the standings?? I could be wrong, but isn't the BCS here to find the best team in college football? How could Oregon be better if BSU beat them?
Chris Low (1:42 PM)
I can't vouch for what will happen in the computer part of the BCS standings, but I have a hard time seeing people in the two human polls rating Oregon ahead of Boise because of the head-to-head deal.
Chris (Texas)
Do you really think that a 260 pound linebacker with unimpeded access to someone's eyes would not cause damage if he really intended to "gouge" him? Ealey got up and didnt even touch his face, talk to a ref, or go to the sidelines. Thoughts?
Chris Low (1:46 PM)
Come on. Think about what you're saying.
pete (knoxville)
Is Mark Richt gone after this season?
Chris Low (1:47 PM)
That would be a no, but I think some of his assistants will be gone.
Stephens (Shreveport, LA)
With the LSU defense come along as it has under Chavis, do you think they will start getting the respect that Alabama, Florida, and even Tenn. are getting?
Chris Low (1:49 PM)
Picking the best defense in the SEC right now is tough. Alabama, Florida, Tennessee and LSU can all make claims.
Chad (Chicago)
Why is this considered a "down year" for Big-10 teams, considering they have (4) teams ranked in BCS top 25...compared to (3) for SEC?
Chris Low (1:49 PM)
I would say the SEC is a bit down this year, with the exception of the three teams in the Top 10.
Matt (Seattle, WA)
Hey how about some talk about the SEC that doesn't include facial violence or the BCS? What happened to AU in October??? The loss to UK makes no sense after Saturday.
Chris Low (1:50 PM)
I just think Auburn was really struggling with its lack of depth and playing so many games without a break and sort of caught its second win last Saturday against Ole Miss. The Auburn defense played its best game of the season, and Antonio Coleman was a force.
Mike Hamilton (Knoxville)
Do you think our Black Jerseys gave us an edge against the Gamecocks saturday Night?
Chris Low (1:51 PM)
Mike, they might have given you an edge, but boy were they ugly.
Bob (Alabama)
Chris, if the Florida and Alabama played saturday, who would win?And how do you see Auburn ending the season?
Chris Low (1:53 PM)
After the way Florida played offensively last weekend, I'd go with the Gators on a neutral field. But it's so close, and part of my reasoning for that is that Alabama hasn't thrown the ball real well the last three weeks. As for Auburn, I'm thinking 8-4, but that means having to win at Georgia in two weeks. An 8-4 record for Auburn would be a really nice start for Chizik.
Josh (GEORGIA)
How bad has UGA's recruiting and future been hurt by this years poor play?
Chris Low (1:55 PM)
Actually, Georgia had recruited really well this year and was near the top in all the class rankings, for what that's worth. Holding onto those players might prove difficult if this season really turns sour. But you never know. Sometimes those players look at something like that as an opportunity to come in and play right away and help turn a program around.
John (Birmingham, AL)
To defend Oregon jumping Boise I just have to say its happened a few times in the past 20 years and in all honesty while every game counts which team would win now even back at Boise? Oregon would smash Boise now. Pollsters have short memories and Boise's weak conference schedule hurts them. They really need to set up a late season OOC game vs. someone or Notre Dame.
Chris Low (1:57 PM)
All fair points, but if Boise stays unbeaten and Oregon's only loss is to Boise, there would be no way I would rank Oregon ahead of Boise. You can't penalize Boise for when they played Oregon. They played them when the game came up on the schedule and won. To say Oregon would win now means nothing. What we know is that when they DID play, Boise won.
james (ga)
come on chris this a good point post it...why do people think bama could beat florida? dont these people remember that this is the same team that beat bama by 11 last yr (remember that percy didnt play and lou murph only had 1 or 2 catches)
Chris Low (1:59 PM)
James, you got your wish. I'm posting it. And, yes, Florida did beat Alabama last year without Percy Harvin, who was injured and didn't dress.
BP (Orlando, FL)
What do you think Mark Richt should do about his QB situation? Should he stick it out with Cox, or go with Gray who looked suspect to get him reps for next year?
Chris Low (2:01 PM)
I would go with somebody else at QB just to see. It can't get much worse, although I thought Georgia put Gray in a terrible situation by throwing him into the game backed up against his own goal line.
Christian (Hurley, MS)
How can Alabama be penalized for having a bye week?
Chris Low (2:02 PM)
They weren't. I just think Florida and Texas picked up some votes for playing well and looking impressive. Bama will get its chance to prove it's the better team on the field if the Tide keep winning. Be patient.
jeff (sevierville, tn)
Did Lil Wayne help tennessee's recruiting with his name-drop of Lane Kiffin??
Chris Low (2:03 PM)
Rumor has it Kiffin was rocking to Lil Wayne today while he was watching film.
Chris Low (2:04 PM)
Thanks again for all the questions. Always a lot of fun, and it looks like the BCS may really get interesting this year.
