2018 World Cup qualifying - how it works

FIFA ethics prosecutors want a lifetime ban imposed on former FIFA vice president Jeffrey Webb, who has pleaded guilty to racketeering charges in the United States.

The former CONCACAF president pleaded guilty last year in New York federal court to racketeering, wire-fraud and money-laundering charges. The 50-year-old Cayman Islands native agreed to forfeit more than $6.7 million as part of his plea deal.

The ethics committee says it received a final investigation report last week from FIFA prosecutors.

FIFA has said that Gordon Derrick will not be allowed to run for CONCACAF president after failing an integrity check.

FIFA has announced that Gordon Derrick, the general secretary of the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association, failed an integrity check and won't be allowed to run for president of CONCACAF, the sport's regional governing body for North and Central America and the Caribbean.

Domenico Scala, chairman of FIFA's audit and compliance committee, said in a statement on Tuesday that Derrick had been disqualified, but added that "for privacy reasons, we are not in a position to go into further details."

A former vice president of football's international governing body pleaded guilty to four conspiracy counts on Monday in the sweeping FIFA bribery scandal.

Speaking through a translator, Alfredo Hawit told Judge Raymond Dearie in U.S. district court in Brooklyn that he had accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes in connection with a scheme to sell marketing rights to tournaments in Latin America.
