JOHANNESBURG -- The South African Football Association says former international midfielder and African Cup of Nations winner John Moshoeu has died. He was 49.

Moshoeu's agent also announced his death, saying he died in a Johannesburg hospital on Tuesday after "a long but brave battle" with cancer.

JOHANNESBURG -- Richard Henyekane, a former South Africa international, was killed in a car crash early Tuesday, his club and the country's Premier Soccer League said.

Winston Reid picked up the injury while playing for West Ham.

Winston Reid has been ruled out of New Zealand's friendly against South Africa in Seoul, coach Anthony Hudson has confirmed.

Reid, 26, picked up a hamstring injury just eight minutes into West Ham's 1-0 defeat to Chelsea on March 4 and missed the subsequent clashes against Arsenal and Sunderland as a result.
