Everton's Bryan Oviedo to miss Gold Cup with Costa Rica due to injury

Everton manager Roberto Martinez commends his side for their poise and organisation in their 3-0 victory over Manchester United.

LIVERPOOL -- Everton midfielder Bryan Oviedo will miss the rest of the Premier League season -- and Costa Rica's Gold Cup campaign -- with a broken bone in his right foot.

Oviedo fractured the fifth metatarsal in his foot during a training session, manager Roberto Martinez said.

The 25-year-old had only just returned to training after more than two months out with a hamstring injury.

Everton's Bryan Oviedo to return in early May

Bryan Oviedo has been out of action since February.

Bryan Oviedo is set to make his return from injury at the beginning of May, Everton manager Roberto Martinez says.

The left-sided Costa Rica international, who plays either at full-back or on the wing, has been out of action for almost eight weeks because of a hamstring problem.

Oviedo suffered the injury during Everton's 4-1 Europa League round of 32 first-leg win over Young Boys in Switzerland on Feb. 19.
