UEFA may create league in Crimea - Russia sports minister

Michel Platini is the president of UEFA.

Russia sports minister Vitaly Mutko says UEFA may set up its own directly administered football league in the disputed region of Crimea.

After Russia annexed Crimea from Ukraine last year, its existing Ukrainian Premier League clubs were shut down and new teams created to play in the Russian leagues.

Andre-Pierre Gignac's Marseille contract is due to expire at the end of the season.

Andre-Pierre Gignac could join former Marseille teammate Mathieu Valbuena at Dinamo Moscow, according to the Russian club's sporting director.

Valbuena, 30, left the Stade Velodrome last summer at the expiration of his contract to move to Dinamo where he has since prospered.

All Russian Premier League clubs ask players to take pay cuts as ruble falls

MOSCOW -- Russian Premier League clubs will ask their players to accept pay cuts in response to a sharp fall in the value of the ruble.

All 16 top-flight clubs agreed to ask players to accept revised deals pegged to a fixed exchange rate that is significantly lower than the current rate, according to documents released by the league.

That would effectively mean pay cuts of more than 20 percent for most of the league's senior players.

The ruble has lost almost half of its value against the dollar...
