Hooligans in Argentina strip off player's kit during game

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina -- A player was assaulted by hooligans and stripped of his shirt and shorts during a match in an Argentine lower-tier club match.

The Argentine newspaper Clarin captured on video the incident in which Elias Di Biasi, a midfielder for Deportivo Italiano -- playing in what amounts to Argentina's fourth division -- was stripped of his shirt and shorts and left standing in his underwear.

Argentina's San Lorenzo to name stadium after Pope Francis

The pope has smiled on San Lorenzo, and the Argentine club has returned the love.

South American champions San Lorenzo are already known as the Saints, and now, their new stadium will have a heavenly name as well.

The Argentine club chose on Wednesday to name their new stadium after their most famous fan: Pope Francis.

Among other business, the executive committee met to discuss what to call the Copa Libertadores champions' new park, and when "Pope Francisco" was proposed, the board members quickly adopted it.
