Ten arrests made in Serie B match-fixing investigation

Antonio Conte says being acquitted of match-fixing charges does not erase the distress heaped upon himself and his family throughout the trial.

Italian anti-mafia police carried out raids that led to 10 arrests on Monday over the suspected fixing of two games from Italy's Serie B in 2014.

Seven individuals belonging to the "Vanella Grassi" Camorra group are in custody with a further three under house arrest, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport and La Repubblica, after an investigation was launched into two fixtures from Italy's second tier.

The games in question -- Avellino's 3-0 win over Reggina and Modena's 1-0 win over Avellino -- are...

Serie A reserve team proposal backed by Juventus' Beppe Marotta

Juventus' general manager Beppe Marotta has hailed a decision which could pave the way to Serie A clubs entering their reserve teams into the Italian league system.

"If it happens, it will be in everybody's best interests," Marotta said after the consultation in Milan to...

Match fixing 'cancer' hasn't been eliminated - Italian prosecutor

ESPN FC's Gab Marcotti discusses how match-fixing allegations affected Chelsea's decision to bring in Antonio Conte.

The prosecutor at the head of recent investigations into match fixing in Italian football has said he had never imagined the extent to which games were being manipulated and warned: "The cancer has not been eliminated."

Several different investigations, some of which involve high-profile figures such as current Italy boss Antonio Conte and Lazio captain Stefano Mauri, discovered that fixtures from as high as Italy's Serie B -- the second division -- had been fixed for betting purposes.

Crotone promoted to Serie A for first time in their history

Crotone fans will be able to watch their team in the top flight for the first time next season.

Crotone were promoted to Serie A for the first time in their history following a 1-1 draw at Modena on Friday night.

The visitors picked up the point they needed to guarantee a maiden season in the top flight of Italian football thanks to Raffaele Palladino's 44th-minute penalty, which cancelled out Davide Luppi's opener after 17 minutes.

The draw left the Calabrians 13 points clear of third-placed Trapani, who have four games left to play.

Around 1,200 fans had travelled to Modena, while thousands...
