Cesena cruise past Catania in Coppa Italia third round

Game Details

Cesena cruised to a 4-1 win at fellow Serie B side Catania on Thursday to complete the third round of the Coppa Italia.

A Loris Bacchetti own goal gave the visitors the lead on 23 minutes, but Juan Ramos was able to equalise just before half-time.

The second half, though, belonged to Cesena as Marco Djuric gave them the lead in the 61st minute and soon after Camillo Ciano scored twice in two minutes to complete the rout.

AC Milan advance in Coppa Italia; Chievo stunned in extra time

Luiz Adriano scored to help AC Milan advance to the fourth round of the Coppa Italia.

Luiz Adriano opened his goal scoring account for AC Milan in a 2-0 win over Perugia in the Coppa Italia on Monday.

Keisuke Honda also scored as Sinisa Mihajlovic won his first competitive game in charge of the Rossoneri.

Honda was left free to score in the 10th minute after an Adriano dummy, and the Brazilian striker scored his first since his move from Shakhtar Donetsk in the 28th minute.

Carlos Bacca sent a back-heeled pass to Honda, who put Luiz Adriano through to score with his left foot.

Udinese, Torino, Carpi advance to Coppa Italia fourth round

Udinese progressed to the fourth round of the Coppa Italia with a 3-1 defeat of Novara at the recently-renovated Stadio Friuli.

Playing for the first-time in their new-look stadium, Udinese led 2-0 at half-time thanks to goals from Guilherme and Cyril Thereau.

Daniele Buzzegoli responded with a free-kick for Novara but, within two minutes, Duvan Zapata was setting up fellow debutant Edenilson for the Brazilian to score the hosts' third goal.

Serie A sides Empoli and Frosinone crash out of Coppa Italia

Massimo Maccarone and Empoli fell to Vicenza on Saturday.

Serie A side Empoli crashed out of the Coppa Italia in their first game in this year's competition, losing 1-0 to Vicenza on Saturday.

Leonardo Gatto's 53rd-minute goal was the difference as second-tier Vicenza advanced to the fourth round.

Frosinone, newly promoted to Serie A this season, were also eliminated, losing to Spezia 6-5 on penalties after neither side could find a breakthrough in 120 minutes.

Bologna sent packing by Pavia in Coppa Italia third round

Newly promoted Serie A side Bologna were the big upset on Friday night in the Coppa Italia third round as they were beaten 1-0 by Lega Pro outfit Pavia.

Stefano Del Sante was the hero for Pavia, as he provided the game's only goal on 35 minutes, while there was further misery for Bologna with defender Alex Ferrari shown a red card in first-half stoppage time.
