Former Chelsea, England midfielder Joe Cole joins Tampa Bay Rowdies

Joe Cole has signed with the North American Soccer League (NASL) Tampa Bay Rowdies, the club announced on Wednesday.

The deal is pending international transfer card approval and will run through the end of the 2017 NASL season, with an option for 2018. Contract details were not disclosed as per league policy.

Former England international Joe Cole is set to sign for North American Soccer League (NASL) Tampa Bay Rowdies, according to his current manager at Coventry City, Tony Mowbray.

In March, a source told ESPN FC that ex-West Ham, Chelsea and Liverpool midfielder Cole had agreed a deal to join the Rowdies after being offered a one-year deal with an option for another 12 months.

Cole is currently at League One side Coventry on a permanent contract until the end of the season after leaving Aston Villa...

FA to probe Millwall for fan striking Oldham's Anthony Gerrard

The Football Association will investigate reports that Oldham defender Anthony Gerrard was struck by a Millwall fan on Saturday.

Oldham lost 3-0 as Millwall secured a League One play-off place at The Den.

There was a pitch invasion at the final whistle and Gerrard said on his personal Twitter account on Saturday night that a Millwall fan gave him a "dig," before saying his "five-year-old hits harder."

Gerrard added: "These Millwall fans are comedy gold! They're very brave in the stands and on [Twitter]....
