Arsenal have signed defender Rob Holding from Bolton Wanderers, adding another young talent to Arsene Wenger's squad.

Holding, 20, has signed a "long-term" deal after moving for a fee reportedly worth around £2 million.

Wolves have cause to celebrate after their takeover was completed.

Chinese group Fosun International has completed their £45 million takeover of Wolverhampton Wanderers, the club have announced.

The Championship side have been up for sale since last year and Fosun will pump up to £30 million into the club over the next two years as part of the deal.

The investment group has links with super-agent Jorge Mendes who represents Jose Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo and has stakes in travel agent Thomas Cook, among other interests.

Stiliyan Petrov will not be offered a playing contract at Aston Villa despite attempting to make his comeback.

The Bulgarian midfielder has been training with Villa this summer after battling back from leukaemia, following his diagnosis in 2012.

Petrov initially retired from playing three years ago but was invited on Villa's preseason trip to Austria with a view to impressing first-team coaches, although the club have now confirmed he will not make a return to on-field action.
