West Ham's season has them looking like Premier League's next big thing

ESPN FC's Alison Bender speaks to West Ham fans about their Upton Park memories.

With the season over, it's time to assess West Ham United's 2015-16. Here's a look back at the final season at Upton Park.

Where will West Ham finish next season?

Season in a sentence

A fantastic season with many highs, few lows, superb teamwork, individual brilliance and plenty of attacking football.

Highlight

The last-gasp 2-1 extra time FA Cup victory over Liverpool at Upton Park in February may well have been given the nod as season highlight had not fixture congestion and a cup run conspired to give West Ham a last game that wasn't...

Premier League season in a sentence as Leicester crowned champions

ESPN FC's Steve Nicol reflects on the Premier League season.

It was another memorable Premier League campaign. Our ESPN FC bloggers take a quick look at how their team fared in the 2015-16 season.

LEICESTER: Leicester ended 2015-16 with a fairytale Premier League title, the PFA player of the year, a Premier League scoring record and Champions League football -- so not bad, then! -- Ben Jacobs

ARSENAL: Not good enough to sustain a title challenge but not bad enough to drop out of the top four -- stop me if you think you've heard this one before. --

Michail Antonio earns top rating in disappointing loss for West Ham

Stoke City held off West Ham courtesy of Mame Diouf's late strike at the Britannia Stadium.

West Ham will rue the chances they missed in a game that they dominated for long periods on Sunday. The 2-1 loss to Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium will hit Slaven Bilic and his men hard. The Europa League dream is still on, but the Hammers must now rely on Manchester United to do them a favour.

In many ways the damage has already been done. Even if United beat Crystal Palace to lift the FA Cup, the Hammers will still need to enter at the Third Round Qualifying stage in order to progress to...

Swansea to beat Man City, United to edge Bournemouth? Spurs to draw?

The ESPN FC preview the final day of the Premier League season, as Man City and Man United battle for fourth place.

What a Premier League season 2015-16 has been. Champions Leicester will get a guard of honour at Stamford Bridge, but the game means little in the general context of everything given Chelsea have put in the worst title defence in living memory.

In fact, with Aston Villa, Newcastle and Norwich all already relegated, there is just the European spots to play for. Manchester United need to beat Bournemouth and hope that Man City lose if they are to make the Champions League playoffs, while West Ham,...

Premier League also-rans looking to Leicester for inspiration

ESPN FC's Steve Nicol says Leicester have set the perfect example this season.

Leicester have ripped up what we have come to expect in the Premier League, so who could follow in their footsteps next season?

The Foxes were all-but set for the Championship last season -- they were bottom of the table until April. 18 last term -- but are now celebrating their first league title in their 132-year history.

Their stunning surge gives hope to the rest of the Premier League outside the established elite. Here, a selection of our ESPN FC bloggers make a case for why they could be next...

West Ham need Stoke win to seal European dream for new home

West Ham face a final day showdown with Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium as they attempt to enter their new home in Stratford as European qualifiers.

Results elsewhere could ensure that the Hammers don't need to win to enter the Europa League with a fifth-placed finish but, with closest challengers Southampton facing FA Cup finalists Crystal Palace at home, it looks likely that three points will be needed.
