Clement Chantome joins Rennes from Ligue 1 rivals Bordeaux

Clement Chantome had joined Bordeaux from Paris Saint-Germain in January 2015.

Rennes have signed former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Clement Chantome from Bordeaux.

The 28-year-old, who had reportedly attracted interest from Premier League club Sunderland, has signed a three-year contract at Roazhon Park.

Chantome told Rennes' official website: "I was convinced by what [head coach] Christian Gourcuff had to say. I'm looking forward to working with him.

"I had a difficult season at Bordeaux -- I had the playing time and the confidence of the staff but I feel my performances...

Rennes' Christan Gourcuff ready for 'challenge' of working with Yoann

Yoann Gourcuff returned to Rennes in November.

Rennes manager Christian Gourcuff has admitted that the prospect of coaching his son Yoann next season is challenging.

Gourcuff, 61, was appointed to his new role earlier this month after stepping down as coach of the Algerian national team.

His son Yoann, 29, returned to his first club in November and went on to score twice in 12 league games for Rennes.

The younger Gourcuff has not yet agreed to stay on next season but Rennes president Rene Ruello suggested that he is likely to do...

Bastia secured a top-10 finish through a 2-1 away victory against eighth-place Rennes at Roazhon Park.

The visitors opened the scoring after 21 minutes when left-back Julian Palmieri's cross was headed home by Guinean forward Francois Kamano.

Kamano doubled his tally after the break through a powerful right-footed effort from the edge of the box that found the top left corner.

Rennes halved their opponent's lead following good work by Giovanni Sio to set up Pedro Henrique to fire home but it could not...

Ousmane Dembele joins Borussia Dortmund from Rennes

ESPN FC's Shaka Hislop assesses Renne's Ousmane Dembele and his potential move to Borussia Dortmund.

Borussia Dortmund have announced the signing of Ousmane Dembele from Rennes.

Dembele, 18, has agreed a contract at the Westfalenstadion until 2021 and is reported to have cost around €15 million.

The forward, who joined Rennes as a 13-year-old in 2010, made his Ligue 1 debut in November and has quickly established himself as one of France's brightest talents.

Christian Gourcuff confirmed as Rennes manager next season

Rennes have lost four of their last five matches to slip to seventh in Ligue 1.

Rennes president Rene Ruello has confirmed that Christian Gourcuff will be the club's manager next season and that his son Yoann could be one of the players working under him.

Gourcuff, 61, stepped down as coach of Algeria last month because he wanted to return to day-to-day management at club level.

He will replace Rolland Courbis, who had taken charge of the Breton club until the end of the season after Philippe Montanier was sacked in January.

"Christian Gourcuff will be the manager of Stade...
