Laurent Blanc guided PSG to a cool 2-0 friendly win over Manchester United.

First-half goals from Blaise Matuidi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic handed Paris Saint-Germain a routine 2-0 win in their Wednesday night friendly against Manchester United at Soldier Field in Chicago.

Both clubs named strong starting XIs in what was the final hit-out of their U.S. tour for both sides, and it didn't take long for Les Parisiens to break through a sloppy United defence.

France international Matuidi was sent clear by Lucas Moura on the 25-minute mark and made no mistake poking the ball past...

Pastore and Lavezzi's return boost PSG's preseason but concerns remain

Gabriele Marcotti claims that although there has been a hiccup in negotiations, he believes that the transfer of Di Maria from Manchester United to PSG will get done soon.

After the arrival of Argentina pair Javier Pastore and Ezequiel Lavezzi in the United States earlier this week, Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc finally has a full squad to work with. However, the South Americans have missed the bulk of preseason, and the start of the new Ligue 1 campaign is now less than two weeks away.

Like last summer with the FIFA World Cup in Brazil, the Copa America has disrupted the manager's plans, and the Frenchman has seen his non-European players arrive in drips...

Angel Di Maria would give Paris Saint-Germain a dimension they've lacked

Gabriele Marcotti claims that although there has been a hiccup in negotiations, he believes that the transfer of Di Maria from Manchester United to PSG will get done soon.

There is something a little different about the atmosphere around Paris Saint-Germain this week during their preseason in the U.S. There's something in the air. The smiles on players' faces are broader, Laurent Blanc looks like the cat who got the cream and even Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been praising someone other than himself.

"He is a fantastic player," the big Swede said last week about Angel Di Maria. "He brings pace, big quality and for sure he will make our team even better."

The Argentine...

Nabil Fekir's absence for Lyon against PSG riles Jean-Michel Aulas

Nabil Fekir scored 13 Ligue 1 goals last season.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas will not attend Saturday's Ligue 1 curtain-raiser against Paris Saint-Germain after his PSG counterpart rejected a request to allow Nabil Fekir to play for OL.

Fekir, 22, incurred an automatic an one-game ban after picking up three yellow cards in fewer than 10 competitive outings late last season, and so will be absent when Lyon step out to face PSG in the Trophee des Champions, the traditional pre-cursor to the French top-flight campaign, in Montreal on Saturday.

Aulas,...

Angel Di Maria can help PSG in Champions League - Zinedine Zidane

Gabriele Marcotti claims that although there has been a hiccup in negotiations, he believes that the transfer of Di Maria from Manchester United to PSG will get done soon.
Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc expects 'a positive outcome' in the French domestic treble winners' pursuit of Manchester United winger Ángel Di María.

Zinedine Zidane believes Angel Di Maria is the kind of player Paris Saint-Germain need to challenge for the Champions League with the Manchester United man set to join the Ligue 1 champions.

Di Maria, 27, is reportedly poised to join PSG in a €63 million deal, significantly bolstering the French club's squad as their Qatari owners continue the pursuit of their ambition of developing a European football heavyweight in the French capital.

Having stumbled at the quarterfinal stage in the last...
