Colorado Rapids are still top, but big losses see Timbers and NYCFC drop

Check out a quick recap of some of the fun from Portland in the first-ever SportsCenter On the Road from an MLS match.

The two top teams played to a 1-1 draw amid swirling rumors about FC Dallas forward Fabian Castillo's imminent departure, so the real movement in this week's MLS Power Rankings comes further down the ladder thanks to a couple of statement wins.

1. Colorado Rapids (no change)
Marlon Hairston's emergence in Colorado is good news for a team that probably won't make many additions in the transfer market after spending big on several designated players.

2. FC Dallas (no change)

Je-Vaughn Watson leads tired New England Revolution to win

Je-Vaughn Watson scored the only goal of the match as New England fought off Chicago Fire at Gillette Stadium.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Saturday's match wasn't the New England Revolution's finest piece of work seen this season. Then again, any team would trade a pretty loss for a narrow win, especially against the worst team in the conference.

On a night in which they peppered the Chicago Fire net with 11 shots and recorded more than twice as many passes as their opponent (437-207), it took an 85th minute Je-Vaughn Watson goal to give the Revolution a 1-0 victory.

Keane, Zardes help LA Galaxy end Portland Timbers' unbeaten streak

Early goals from Robbie Keane and Gyasi Zardes lifted LA Galaxy to a road win against rivals Portland Timbers.

Robbie Keane and Gyasi Zardes scored in the opening 11 minutes as the LA Galaxy beat Portland 2-1 on Saturday to snap the Timbers' nine-game undefeated streak.

Zarek Valentin scored for the Timbers, who were stung when they lost veteran defender Nat Borchers to what appeared to be a left ankle injury late in the first half. Borchers was a key piece to the Timbers' team that won the MLS Cup last season.

It was the Galaxy's fourth straight victory in Major League Soccer play, and fifth overall. Los...

NE Revolution defender Je-Vaughn Watson embracing role as utility man

ALLSTON, Mass. -- Over the course of his 12-year professional career, Revolution defender Je-Vaughn Watson has learned to never shy away from an opportunity, unglamorous or otherwise. On Wednesday, both he and his team reaped the rewards of that attitude.

With a trip to the U.S. Open Cup semifinals on the line, the Jamaican international scored early before converting the clinching penalty strike in Wednesday's 1-1 (4-2 penalties) win over the Philadelphia Union at Harvard University.

Watson, who...
