Villarreal advance to face Barcelona in Copa del Rey semifinals

Gerard Moreno's goal saw Villarreal through to the Copa del Rey semfinals.

Villarreal won 1-0 at Getafe to advance to a Copa del Rey semifinal against Barcelona on a 2-0 aggregate score on Thursday.

Athletic Bilbao will meet Espanyol in the other semifinal.

Villarreal entered with a 1-0 lead from the opening leg and held Getafe in check until striker Gerard Moreno sealed their place among the final four teams with a goal in the 78th minute.

Javi Guerra's strike 12 minutes from time ensured Malaga claimed a 1-1 draw at Atletico Bilbao, whose four-game losing streak in the Primera Division was brought to a halt.

Malaga sporting director Mario Armando Husillos said on Wednesday that the club have no plans to shop Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo "Memo" Ochoa in this transfer window.
