Hatem Ben Arfa's revival at Nice under Claude Puel has been sensational

Hatem Ben Arfa has turned his career around in Nice.

When Hatem Ben Arfa left England in January 2015 his career was in tatters. Having had his Newcastle United contract terminated by the club a few weeks after his disastrous loan spell to Hull City was cut short in December, the French midfielder signed for Nice but was barred from appearing his new club by FIFA and seemed destined to disappear from the radar.

"I am ready to go to the North Pole to play football," he said after being told he could not play for Nice. That wasn't necessary, of course...

Arsenal strikers end drought in welcome FA Cup win at Hull

After Hull City gifted Olivier Giroud with the opening goal Arsenal never looked back as they dominated the rest of the contest to defeat Hull 4-0.

HULL, England -- Three observations from the KC Stadium where Arsenal defeated Hull City 4-0 to advance to the sixth round of the FA Cup.

1. Wenger's welcomed win comes at a cost

History has a habit of repeating itself at Arsenal. It may do yet again. For the third successive season, they have eliminated Hull from the FA Cup. LONDON -- Three thoughts on Arsenal and Hull's 0-0 draw in the FA Cup fifth round.

1. Managers make their priorities clear

We're now fully accustomed to managers heavily rotating their sides for the FA Cup, but this truly was a reserve game. Incredibly, Arsene Wenger and Steve Bruce made 19 changes between them, and each side featured only two players who would be considered first-team regulars.

Both managers were concentrating on more important midweek games. On Tuesday, Arsenal have a Champions...

Ex-Dutch and Aston Villa star George Boateng eyes Malaysia coaching job

As Louis van Gaal masterminded Manchester United's emphatic victory against Liverpool over the weekend, the former Premier League midfielder to whom he gave his full Netherlands debut a decade and a half ago declared his interest in the Malaysia national coaching job.

Ex-Kelantan head coach George Boateng was back in Kuala Lumpur on a personal trip and eyeing what some might consider to have become the toughest gig in Southeast Asian football.

On Sep. 5, under-23 coach Ong Kim Swee took over on...

Dawson's impressive debut season at the KC not enough to keep Hull up

Michael Dawson turned in an impressive debut season with Hull City but it wasn't enough to keep his side in the Premier League.

Hull City's relegation from the Premier League was a bitter pill to swallow 12 months after reaching the FA Cup final and European football for the first time.

The standout performers were few and far between within an underachieving group of players, as too many fell short of the standards set in the previous season. Not enough could claim to have enjoyed the campaign, a telling reflection of the club's fortunes.
