Hellas Verona earned their first Serie A win of the season after coming from a goal behind to claim a 2-1 victory over 10-man Atalanta.

Andrea Conti put the visitors ahead but Luca Siligardi equalised just before the break. Boukary Drame was sent off for a second bookable offence before Giampaolo Pazzini popped up to score the winner in 83rd minute to give Verona a morale-boosting win at the Stadio Bentegodi.

Verona began brightly and had a goal disallowed early after referee Marco Di Bello ruled that...

Hellas Verona's quest for a first win of the Serie A season continues after a goalless draw at Torino.

The basement boys - 12 points from safety - did well to hold out at the Stadio Olimpico, where mid-table Torino went close to scoring on numerous occasions.

Andrea Belotti saw two efforts miss the mark in the first half and returning striker Ciro Immobile was thwarted by Verona goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini before half-time.

The visitors' best chance arrived in the 77th minute. Veteran striker Luca...

Napoli send Jonathan de Guzman out on loan to Carpi

Jonathan de Guzman has found playing time hard to come by at Napoli this season.

Jonathan de Guzman has joined Carpi in their relegation battle on loan from Napoli for the rest of the season.

The Netherlands midfielder has not appeared in a Serie A game this season but should boost Carpi's hopes of staying up, with the squad five points from safety in 18th place.

Also on Thursday, Carpi saw the departure of Luca Marrone, who had been on loan from Juventus.

The 25-year-old will join Hellas Verona on loan until the season concludes.

Earlier, Carpi sold Marco Borriello to Atalanta.

Hellas Verona remain unfulfilled in their quest for a first victory of the Serie A season after being held to a 1-1 draw by Genoa at the Marc'Antonio Bentegodi.

Hapless Hellas gave Genoa the upper hand in the 19th minute when goalkeeper Ferdinando Coppola put through his own net under pressure from former Liverpool midfielder Suso.

Lone striker Giampaolo Pazzini managed to drag Verona back into the tie with an equaliser on 40 minutes, but the basement boys could not find a way past Mattia Perin in...

Luciano Spalletti was denied victory on his return to the Roma dugout as Hellas Verona forced a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Olimpico.

After a seven-year absence from the capital, Spalletti has replaced Rudi Garcia as Giallorossi boss and Radja Nainggolan gave him some early cause to be cheerful with a 41st-minute opener.

Giampaolo Pazzini's penalty on the hour mark then secured a deserved share of the points for Hellas, who remain rooted to the foot of Serie A, 12 points adrift of safety.

Spalletti's first...
