Hamburg sign 18-year-old Gambian refugee Bakery Jatta

Bakery Jatta has already been training with Hamburg.

Hamburg have signed Gambian refugee Bakery Jatta on a three-year contract.

Jatta turned 18 a week ago, which allowed him to sign a professional deal. He already had been training with the first team.

Jatta fled his homeland in 2015 and arrived in northern Germany via Italy. He joined a football academy in Bremen and convinced Hamburg's staff to trial him.

He can play in several attacking positions. Jatta says he had never played in a club before.

United States striker Bobby Wood is joining Hamburg.

Hamburg coach Bruno Labbadia has said he believes Bobby Wood has taken another step forward in his career at the Copa America.

United States international attacker Wood will join the Bundesliga club following the tournament.

The 23-year-old signed from second-tier side Union Berlin before leaving Germany for the Copa America Centario in the United States.

He has started three games at the tournament, scoring in the 4-0 defeat of Costa Rica last week.

Hamburg coach Bruno Labbadia is looking forward to working with U.S. international Bobby Wood.

Bundesliga club Hamburg have announced they have completed the signing of U.S. international Bobby Wood from Union Berlin.

Wood, 23, has signed a four-year contract with Hamburg, tying him to the side until 2020, after reportedly holding talks on Friday.

The striker has scored 17 goals in 30 matches in the second tier this season, setting a record for goals scored by an American in Germany.
