The Lincolnshire side took the lead through a Darren Carter own goal before Omar Bogle headed in the second, ensuring the Mariners were comfortably ahead at the interval.

Torquay won at home for the first time since the opening day of the season with a surprise 4-1 success against Forest Green.

Keanu Marsh-Brown put the National League title challengers in front but a Tyrone Marsh double and late goals from Durrell Berry and Andre Wright gave the Gulls a long-overdue three points at Plainmoor.

A looping header from Jon Parkin saw the visitors go close early on and Marsh-Brown fired Forest Green ahead with a rising shot from outside the area after 20 minutes. However,...

A brilliant individual goal from Kemar Roofe gave Sky Bet League Two leaders Oxford United a 1-0 win over high-flying Vanarama National League side Forest Green Rovers in the FA Cup.

Keeper Steve Arnold had made some super saves in the second half to keep the Gloucestershire outfit in the tie but he was powerless to stop Roofe's fierce low shot from 23 yards in the 76th minute, which bounced off his arm and into the far corner.

Forest Green had made a bright start and Aaron Racine's header brought...

Gary McSheffrey's two deflected goals ensured Scunthorpe avoided an FA Cup upset as they won 2-0 away at Forest Green.

The 32-year-old journeyman's efforts either side of the break were both wickedly diverted in off Rovers' defenders, but the Conference side gave a good account of themselves against League One opposition.

Scunthorpe went close after only 39 seconds when Lyle Taylor was denied by keeper Sam Russell, before McSheffrey's 21st-minute shot spun up off a home defender and wrong-footed Russell...
