Pardew experiments with Crystal Palace shape, personnel in preseason

Zeki Fryers
Zeki Fryers hasn't seen much time at Crystal Palace, but he featured in each of the club's three North American friendlies.

Preseason is in full swing, the Premier League is a mere three weeks away and everyone is trying to work out what Alan Pardew's team will be for the first game of the season. Palace take on West Brom at Selhurst Park and could be lining up with The Baggies' striker Saido Berahino in their ranks with reports that the Eagles have made a £20 million bid for the striker.

But while the search for a desperately needed new forward goes on, it's at the other end of the pitch that some questions...

Crystal Palace make £20m bid for Saido Berahino of West Brom - report

ESPN FC's Shaka Hislop believes its time for West Brom to cut ties with Saido Berahino.
Sources say Saido Berahino is the subject of a big-money offer from Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace have made an offer of £20 million plus add-ons for West Brom striker Saido Berahino, sources have told Press Association Sport.

The offer remains on the table and has not been accepted or rejected by the Baggies.

It tops Stoke's offer of £17m plus £3m in add-ons from earlier in the week -- which is also yet to get an official answer -- but West Brom have always wanted to find a suitable replacement before allowing Berahino to complete a move.

Sources say the 22-year-old...

Steve Mandanda won the Ligue 1 title with Marseille in 2010.

Steve Mandanda returned to Marseille on Thursday to say goodbye to staff and supporters at the club before he links up with Crystal Palace.

Mandanda, 31, spent nine seasons at Marseille before completing a move to Palace earlier this month.

The France international was captain of Marseille last season and he felt it was important to make one last visit to the club's Commanderie training centre to bid farewell.

"I could have done a bit like everyone else and made a letter or prepared something but...

A brace from Fraizer Campbell helped Crystal Palace to a 2-2 draw against the Vancouver Whitecaps in their final North American tour match on Tuesday.

Former Newcastle United defender David Edgar put the hosts ahead in the 50th minute before Campbell responded, netting two goals in the space of five minutes.

Damien Delaney and Julian Speroni were both called upon to keep Palace's lead but, in the end, a fine strike from Costa Rica international Kendall Waston levelled the scores with 13 minutes to...

Five strikers Crystal Palace could turn to if Benteke deal falls through

As Christian Benteke struggles to find his feet at Liverpool, could a move to Crystal Palace be on the cards?

The longer the Christian Benteke saga rolls on, the more likely it is that the out-of-favour Liverpool forward won't be joining Crystal Palace. The Belgian has been linked with a move to Selhurst Park for the past two weeks in a £30 million deal, but it's unknown whether the Red and Blue Army will match the Reds' lofty price tag.

Eagles fans are used to disappointment, especially when it comes to transfers. After having got their hopes up that a world-class striker would finally be arriving,...
