Yohan Cabaye left in limbo as career stalls at Paris Saint-Germain

ESPN FC's Alexis Nunes and Shaka Hislop discuss PSG's pursuit of Angel Di Maria and question whether the Argentina international would find success with the French giants.

Unfortunately for Yohan Cabaye, the bench has become a very familiar place in the last 18 months.

He spent his last game of the campaign sat with France's substitutes, watching Les Bleus lose 1-0 to Albania in Elbasan on June 13. Six days earlier, in the 4-3 loss against Belgium, he was subbed off at half-time after 45 terrible minutes where he should have been sent off.

Since moving to PSG in January 2014, Cabaye has spent more time watching football than playing. This season, for example, he played...

James McArthur helped spearhead Crystal Palace's second half surge up the table.
James McArthur joined Crystal Palace from Wigan.

James McArthur has committed his long-term future to Crystal Palace after putting pen-to-paper on a new three-year deal with the club.

The Scotland international, 27, is the south London outfit's record signing after he arrived from Wigan in a £7 million deal last summer.

McArthur impressed during his debut campaign at Palace and manager Alan Pardew was keen to tie the midfielder down to a new contract.

Everton and Norwich were both reported to be interested in McArthur, but the Scot will now...

Yohan Cabaye moved to Paris Saint-Germain from Newcastle for £19 million in January 2014.

Talks between representatives of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Yohan Cabaye and Crystal Palace are progressing positively, a source has told ESPN FC.

ESPN FC reported at the start of June that Palace had launched a bid to sign France international Cabaye, and the Premier League club have now confirmed publicly that talks are underway to bring the 29-year-old back to the Premier League.

Cabaye enjoyed a strong working relationship with Palace manager Alan Pardew when the pair worked together at...

Terry, Walcott, Carrick and Van Persie available in 2016 as deals expire

The transfer window is open and the ESPN FC crew look at the possible ins and outs in the Premier League.

The summer transfer market is already being shaped by players whose previous clubs proved unable or unwilling to keep them when their contracts were expiring.

Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba, James Milner, Danny Ings and Glen Johnson have all moved on this summer and the window next year will be no different.

As a host of players enter the final year of their deals, coveted footballers can find themselves in an even more enviable position when they are able to enter the market without...

Yohan Cabaye open to playing for Crystal Palace, clubs yet to agree fee

Yohan Cabaye moved to Paris Saint-Germain from Newcastle for £19 million in January 2014.

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Yohan Cabaye is open to the prospect of a move to Crystal Palace as talks continue between the two clubs over the French international, a source has told ESPN.

Palace boss Alan Pardew put Cabaye on the Premier League stage when he signed him for Newcastle in 2011, with the duo's strong working relationship remaining intact despite the French midfielder doing all he could to move to PSG at the start of the 2013-14 season.

Cabaye eventually moved to Paris in January...
