Bayern Munich were crowned Bundesliga champions for the third year running without even kicking a ball on Sunday as their nearest rivals Wolfsburg went down to a 1-0 defeat at Borussia Monchengladbach.

Needing to win to keep the title race alive -- at least mathematically -- for another week, Wolfsburg rarely looked like succeeding as they were second best at the Borussia Park Stadion.

They resisted until the last minute of the game, though, when Max Kruse struck to earn the Foals a win which moves...

Borussia Monchengladbach failed to take their first match point in the race for a place in the Champions League after being held to a goalless draw at Eintracht Frankurt.

A win for the Foals would have given them a chance to wrap up their place in Europe's elite club competition as early as this weekend, but in the end they were fortunate to come away with a draw which leaves them just three points clear of fourth-placed Bayer Leverkusen, who are in action on Saturday.

Granit Xhaka would have no fun with Atletico Madrid move - Gladbach chief

Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl has laughed off reports linking midfielder Granit Xhaka with a move to Atletico Madrid.

Last week Sport Bild linked the Switzerland international with a €25 million switch to the Spanish champions, despite the 22-year-old only renewing his contract in February.

Xhaka confirmed he "also heard about this," but insisted his top priority is "to focus on my tasks here at Gladbach."
