Mitch Langerak served as backup goalkeeper for Australia at the 2014 World Cup and 2015 Asian Cup.

Australia goalkeeper Mitch Langerak has joined Stuttgart from Borussia Dortmund.

Langerak, who is reported to have cost around €4 million, has signed a contract at Stuttgart until 2018.

The 26-year-old had served as backup to Roman Weidenfeller during his five-year stint at Dortmund, although he managed to break into Jurgen Klopp's first XI at times last season, playing 10 games in the Bundesliga and six in the DFB Pokal, including the final.

Wolfsburg start their season against Eintracht Frankfurt at the Volkswagen Arena -- the first time they have opened with a home game since 2009.

Borussia Dortmund, meanwhile, play host to Borussia Monchengadbach...

German tabloid Bild reported on Wednesday that Arsenal were preparing the offer for the 26-year-old Gabon international, who joined Borussia from Ligue 1 side St Etienne for a reported fee of €13m in 2013.

However, Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc told kicker that BVB are "not interested in selling Aubameyang."

Defensive forwards a common trait among Europe's elite

ESPN FC's Mark Donaldson and Steve Nicol assess Man City's potential transfer targets and predict which ones will end up at the Etihad.

Ask an Arsenal supporter about their memories of the "Invincibles" season of 2003-04, and they'll probably mention Thierry Henry's goal return, Dennis Bergkamp's creative genius or Robert Pires' tricky wing play. But one of the most exhilarating parts of Arsenal's play was, somewhat surprisingly, when their star man conceded possession.

Henry's poor touches were few and far between, but when a misplaced pass went to an opponent rather than a teammate, the Frenchman made it his own personal mission...
