Timothee Kolodziejczak was given a straight card for the visitors just after that goal and Raul Garcia capitalised on the home side's numerical...

Laporte, 21, has been linked with a move to the Etihad in the summer with incoming boss Pep Guardiola reported to be keen on him.

However, Athletic midfielder San Jose has said defender Laporte is happy at the Spanish club and expects him to stay.

"I am confident that he will continue with us... but I guess in football you never know what can happen," the former Liverpool...

Athletic Bilbao assured themselves of a top-six finish and a place in next season's Europa League, despite drawing 0-0 with Las Palmas.

Sevilla's loss to Granada means that Athletic and Celta Vigo, who swapped places on Sunday, will finish fifth and sixth in the final standings ahead of next weekend's final round of fixtures.

Las Palmas had already secured their safety and before the game they bade farewell to Juan Carlos Valeron, the 40-year-old former Spain international who announced he was retiring...

Athletic Bilbao's Aymeric Laporte dismisses Man City speculation

Aymeric Laporte has been linked with a number of big clubs in Europe.

Athletic Bilbao centre-back Aymeric Laporte has described reports he has agreed to join Manchester City this summer as "unfounded and incorrect," although he stopped short of saying he will remain at the Spanish club next season.

Laporte, 21, has impressed in his three seasons as a regular starter at Athletic, leading to regular speculation that he will eventually move elsewhere.

Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are among the clubs that have been mentioned as possible...
