Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: Monaco coach Jardim lied over handshake

Leonardo Jardim insists his side deserved to advance from the Uefa Champions League round of 16 tie with Arsenal.
ESPN FC's Janusz Michallik and Paul Mariner discuss Arsene Wenger's latest comments on the away goals rule.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says away goals are too heavily weighted, after watching his side go out to Monaco thanks to the rule in the UEFA Champions League round of 16.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has accused Monaco counterpart Leonardo Jardim of lying after he claimed he had refused to shake hands following their recent Champions League clash at the Emirates Stadium.

Jardim told media after last week's round-of-16 second leg, which Monaco lost 2-0 as they went through on away goals after a 3-3 aggregate draw -- that Wenger had snubbed him following Monaco's 3-1 first-leg triumph.

Speaking to L'Equipe, Wenger said TV pictures proved that he had wanted to speak...

Revitalised Marseille target Ligue 1 title as Monaco also make a run

ESPN FC's Gabriele Marcotti discusses this weekend's results in Ligue 1, where Paris Saint-Germain took the lead in the league table.

At the risk of repeating myself, this season's Ligue 1 title race is by far the most exciting in Europe.

With eight games to go, one point separates leaders Paris Saint-Germain from second-placed Lyon, while Marseille are one further back. Plus, Monaco, who are fourth and four points behind Marseille, have a game in hand.

Such a scenario was totally unexpected. At the start of the season, the prevailing wisdom was that PSG would run away with the title like Bayern Munich have in Germany or...

Monaco no easy rival for Juventus, says Carlos Tevez

Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri believes his side can win the Champions League.
Massimiliano Allegri and Carlos Tevez hailed Juventus' professional approach, after the Argentine striker scored the only goal in their Serie A victory over Genoa.
Former Juventus star turned director Pavel Nedved has warned the team they need to be very careful in their Champions League quarterfinal against Monaco.
Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner praised teammate Carlos Tevez for contributing two crucial goals against Borussia Dortmund.
Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri says to be not surprised by his side's emphatic win over Borussia Dortmund and praises striker Carlos Tevez.

Juventus striker Carlos Tevez says he would have preferred to be facing one of Spain's top clubs in the quarterfinals of the Champions League while he has warned that Monaco are not going to be easy opponents.

It has been widely suggested that Juve had been lucky in drawing the French side in the last eight. Avoiding the likes of Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid have boosted their hopes of making the semifinals for the first time since 2003, when they lost in the final in a penalty shootout...

Marseille hopeful of Ligue 1 title win, Monaco aiming for top-three finish

ESPN FC's Gabriele Marcotti discusses this weekend's results in Ligue 1, where Paris Saint-Germain took the lead in the league table.

Marseille's Dimitri Payet insists his club are aiming for the Ligue 1 title, while Monaco's Aymen Abdennour is hoping for a Champions League place.

Marseille remain third in the Ligue 1 table despite their 4-0 victory over Lens on Sunday evening, but the result took Marcelo Bielsa's men to within two points of leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

After finishing outside the top five last season, OM are already set for an improvement, but Payet told reporters a record-equalling 10th Ligue 1 crown remains...

Monaco continued their bid for Champions League qualification with a 3-1 win at struggling Reims in Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Goals from Fabinho and Anthony Martial put the visitors in command early on, but Diego pulled one back with 20 minutes to go.

But Nabil Dirar restored fourth-placed Monaco's two-goal lead nine minutes later as they made it three league wins in a row to remain firmly in the hunt for a top-three finish.

Monaco made a blistering start and found themselves 2-0 up inside the opening 15...
