Wenger needs more after Xhaka

 By Tom Adams

Euro 2016 spot would be just reward for Arsenal's Hector Bellerin

ESPN FC Arsenal correspondant Mattias Karen looks back at Arsenal's season, and what it is they need for the 2016/17 season.

Monday June 13 could be a big day for Hector Bellerin. Spain play Czech Republic in their opening match of Euro 2016 and his name could well be inked on the team sheets when they are published at Stadium de Toulouse. In a quirk of fate, the very next day will mark the 10th anniversary of Cesc Fabregas becoming the country's youngest ever player in a World Cup when at age 19 he appeared as a substitute against Ukraine.

It is a significant coincidence. Bellerin may be two years older than Fabregas...

Arsenal striker Theo Walcott watches Lewis Hamilton win Monaco Grand Prix

Being snubbed by England isn't all bad for Theo Walcott.

The Arsenal forward, who was left out of Roy Hodgson's squad for Euro 2016, used his free time to take in the glitz and glamour of the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday.

So while the England players were on the training ground working hard to impress Hodgson ahead of his final 23-man selection,...

Will Jose Mourinho revive Man United? Premier League burning questions

ESPN FC's Alexis Nunes breaks down the best of the social media world, where Jose Mourinho takes center stage.
Jose Mourinho says he can't wait to start work at Manchester United.

Don't get me wrong. The Champions League final had definite intrigue, and I'm looking forward to the Euros as much as the next person, provided that the next person isn't Gianni De Biasi or Lars Lagerback, the managers of Albania and Iceland respectively, whose feet haven't touched the ground since their teams qualified for the tournament. And I couldn't be happier that the Copa America is being held in the United States next month, just perhaps not as enthusiastically as the guy who penned the...

Bellerin and Monreal have a place, but Gibbs on borrowed time at Arsenal

The ESPN FC crew discuss Arsene Wenger's summer spending plans.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is fortunate to have two of the best full-backs in the Premier League at his disposal. Though he is often criticised as not being very defensively minded, perhaps he doesn't get the credit he deserves.

Hector Bellerin was a youth prospect, plucked from Barcelona's La Masia academy like others before him, and although it was an injury crisis that afforded him his chance in the side, the Arsenal manager recognised the Spaniard's potential and kept him there even when he...
