Man City's Aaron Mooy can thank A-League for transforming his career

ESPN FC'S Jason Dasey and PJ Roberts address the rumours surrounding Tim Cahill and if a move back to Australia is imminent.

Australian midfielder Aaron Mooy
Aaron Mooy has quickly become the most important midfielder in the Australian national team.

Aaron Mooy's three-year contract with Manchester City proves there can be a second chance for Australian players in Europe and that the A-League has become a springboard for emerging talent rather than a football backwater.

Mooy moves to the Sky Blues from their sister club, Melbourne City, just a couple of months before his 26th birthday, and a decade after his failed, first attempt to estbalish himself in England.

The introduction of a new guest player role has been tailor made for the veteran Socceroo, and Gallop admitted as much on Wednesday.

"I'm not calling it the Tim Cahill rule but I can understand if others might," he said.

Cahill, 36, has been the most marketable Socceroo -- and perhaps Australian sportsman...

Relive some of the best calls from Icelandic commentator Gudmundur Benediktsson during Iceland's run to the Euro 2016 quarterfinals.
The After Dark panel discuss England's failure to impress at yet another major tournament, and Iceland's historic run.

Iceland created one of the biggest shocks in major tournament history by knocking out England from Euro 2016 with their Round of 16 victory in Saint-Denis on Monday night.

So what can fellow islanders Singapore, with a similar sized pool of players, learn from the Nordic nation?

Here are five good examples to follow:

Iceland Celeb
Iceland focused on their own game plan instead of worrying about England's tactics.

1. Play to your strengths

After falling behind to Wayne Rooney's early penalty, Iceland rocked England with two goals in 12 minutes to establish a lead that they never lost.

They even...
