Weakley Reconsiders World Record Application

Mac Weakley shocked the angling world on March 20, 2006, when he boated the largest bass man has ever seen, a 25-pound, 1-ounce behemoth. The California angler shocked the angling world again when he announced that he would not submit the fish for world-record status because he had foul-hooked the bass.

Get ready to be shocked one more time: Weakley is reconsidering. "We're still 50-50 on what we're going to do, but the more we thought about this, the more we realized there's always going to be controversy surrounding this record," Weakley told the San Diego Union-Tribune.
