Mauresmo's playing better than Serena

LOS ANGELES -- With No. 1 Lindsay Davenport missing out on qualifying for the semifinals, the No. 1 ranking is in Amelie Mauresmo's reach.
Today, we'll test how much she's feeling the pressure of going for No. 1. Mauresmo stays in the running for year-end No. 1 if she defeats Serena Williams in their semifinal.
Williams had a hard time in her match against Davenport on Saturday afternoon. It seemed as though Williams knew she just needed to win one set to qualify for the semifinals. She should play a better and a more complete match in the semifinals.
