Overall: Ficklin had been expected to play fullback when he enrolled in 2001 but San Jose State almost immediately moved him to linebacker and he redshirted that year. He primarily provided depth in 2002 and he moved from linebacker to end at the end of the season. Ficklin registered 36 total tackles, six tackles-for-loss and four sacks in 2003. He emerged as a playmaker during his junior season, registering 17 tackles-for-loss as well as seven sacks, and he was a first-team All Western Athletic Conference selection. Ficklin has an adequate combination of burst, athletic ability and upper body strength. However, he doesn't have the overall physical tools  particularly height, base and athleticism  to develop into a consistent contributor in the NFL. While there is a chance he gets selected in the later rounds of the draft it's more likely he signs with a team as an undrafted rookie ...
