Overall: Spencer redshirted in 2001. He played as part of a rotation (mostly at OG) during his redshirt freshman season in 2002 and then moved to the center position fulltime because of injury in 2003 and wound up starting five games. Spencer made his biggest improvement between his sophomore and junior seasons. As a junior in 2004, he started all 11 games at center and earned honorable mention All-SEC honors. Spencer doesn't have great starting experience and he is still a bit raw. He needs to improve his lower body strength and he will also need time at the NFL level to improve his overall technique. However, Spencer's upside is enticing. He has good size and even better size potential. He shows quick feet, good mobility and adequate upper body power as a blocker.
