Overall: Riddle has emerged from nowhere as a mid-round NFL draft prospect. He fell out of love with football following a disappointing senior season in high school as the captain of his team. He wound up going to junior college (El Camino), where he was focusing on a future in the film industry, but finally was talked into playing football by the junior college coach. Once he got back into shape and shook the rust off, Riddle wound up dominating the competition and eventually was offered a scholarship by coach Jeff Tedford to play at Cal. After starting just three games as a junior and first-year transfer in 2003, Riddle emerged as a fulltime starting defensive end as a senior in 2004 and recorded 19 tackles for loss and 14.5 sacks during 11 regular season games.
