Overall: Currie was a reserve receiver as a freshman in 2001 and as a sophomore in 2002. He missed three games because of injury as a junior in 2003 and finished with 43 receptions and 560 yards. As a senior in 2004, Currie finished with 61 receptions for 868 yards and two TD's. Prior to his senior season Currie was a track star trying to make it as a football player. He was unpolished, had durability problems and had only shown flashes of potential. However, Currie has made huge strides in terms of his consistency, toughness and know-how as a wide receiver during his senior season in 2004. Currie is still rough around the edges and is limited by his marginal size, but his improvement is promising.
