Overall: Williams got off to a great start as a true freshman in 2000 with 23 receptions. He followed it up with a 56-catch season as a sophomore in 2002 before suffering a season-ending fracture of the distal tibia bone in his left leg versus East Carolina (9/14). After taking his medical redshirt in 2002, Williams returned healthy as a junior in 2003 and finished with 66 receptions for 1,006 yards and nine touchdowns. He remained the Green Wave's leading receiver as a senior in 2004 with 52 catches for 826 yards. Williams is a consistent, reliable receiver with good quickness and hands. He has been extremely productive when healthy, but he also has had durability problems and plays in a pass-friendly scheme that helps to mask his physical shortcomings. Williams has adequate size and good quickness, but his lack of any elite physical qualities  especially his below average ...
