Overall: McArthur played as a reserve in his true freshman season in 2000. He suffered an arm injury in 2001 and wound up using his medical redshirt that season. He returned as a sub-package receiver with 36 receptions before having his breakout season as a junior in 2003 with 85 receptions for 1,504 yards. He had another productive season as a senior in 2004 with 57 receptions for 862 yards and seven TD's in 11 games played. He did not play in Cal's bowl game vs. Texas Tech because of a broken leg. He was a no-show at the combine (own choice) and did not workout at Cal's first pro-timing day while still rehabilitating the leg injury.
