Overall: Collins redshirted as a freshman and played sparingly as a sophomore in 2001, when he made the transition from wide receiver to outside linebacker. He played in 10 games as a reserve OLB in 2002 and played in 11 games as a OLB/DE as a junior in 2003. Made the transition from defense to tight end in the spring of 2004 and finished with just six catches for 67 yards as a rotating player in his senior season. Collins is an intriguing mid-to-late round prospect with the physical tools to become a much more productive player in the NFL than he was at the collegiate level. After spending time at wide receiver, outside linebacker and defensive end, Collins was finally moved to tight end as a senior in 2004. He had limited production but flashed a lot of potential.
