Overall: Johnson was a junior college All-American Butte Junior College in California before he transferred to Utah in 2001. He started the first game of the 2001 season and he led the NCAA in rushing yards two games in 2002 but injuries ended both seasons prematurely. While the NCAA granted Johnson a medical hardship so he could play for another two years, he also missed the entire 2003 season because of a suspension. Johnson finally returned to the field in 2004 and he capitalized on the opportunity by rushing for 802 yards and 14 TD's on 165 carries. He also had seven receptions for 46 yards. As a result of the injuries and suspension, Johnson has a lot of baggage that comes along with him. His lack of speed and explosiveness also limits his upside in the NFL.
