Overall: Pearman played in 12 games as a true freshman and started six at RB. He saw action at running back for the first nine games in 2002 before injuring his knee and having season-ending surgery. He played in all 13 games in 2003 and finished with 643 yards on 134 carries and 518 yards on 63 receptions. He also saw significant time as the team's return specialist throughout his career at UVA. Pearman had one of the biggest breakout seasons as a senior in 2004 of any player in college football. He finished the year with 1,037 rushing yards on 197 carries, 402 receiving yards on 29 catches, 314 punt return yards on 28 attempts and 185 kickoff return yards on five attempts.
