Overall: Hudson redshirted in 2000 and moved from safety to running back in 2001, playing in 11 games as a backup. He played a backup role again in 2002 (all 13 games played) and also returned 13 kickoffs. Hudson had surgery on his right knee in September, 2003 but played in 12 games and wound up rushing for 490 yards on 1000 carries as Shaud Williams' backup. He also had 15 receptions for 179 yards and returned 10 kickoffs for 202 yards. He was suspended for the LSU game in 2003 after being arrested for a misdemeanor marijuana charge. As a senior in 2004, Hudson was one of the leading rushers in the SEC through six games with 648 yards on 92 carries but suffered a season ending knee injury to the same right knee.
