Overall: Haynes redshirted in 2000. He played in just nine games in '01, but when healthy he has been the primary load-carrier for the Golden Knights since his redshirt freshman season. He rushed for 740 yards on 140 carries in 2001, 1,038 yards on 204 carries in 2002 and 774 yards on 183 carries in 2003. Haynes missed two games in the middle of the 2004 season but finished with 854 yards and five TD's on 215 carries and 123 yards on 18 receptions. Haynes is a powerful downhill runner that also possesses good hands as a receiver and adequate blocking skills in pass protection. However, his lack of elusiveness and acceleration limit his potential as a premier back in the NFL, and there are also concerns about his mental capacity and durability.
