Overall: Buckles redshirted in 2000 before earning a starting job as a redshirt freshman for nine games in 2001. He was the Rebels' fulltime starting left guard from 2002-'04. Buckles continued to improve each season and he has the frame to continue to get bigger, stronger and more dominant at the point of attack. The bottom line, however, is that Buckles is an overachiever with limited upside. He has the potential to push for a reserve OG role in the NFL but his marginal athletic ability will prevent him from ever becoming anything more. That's why the experienced and productive collegiate standout grades out as a free agent prospect in our opinion.
