Overall: Goolsby played in all 11 games in 2000 and 2001, making his biggest impact on special teams. He started all 13 games of the 2002 season but a shoulder injury forced him to miss the entire 2003 season. Goolsby returned to the starting lineup in 2004 and he led the Irish with 97 total tackles, including 7.5 tackles for loss, three sacks and two interceptions. Goolsby's upside is limited by his lack of ideal speed and he needs to add some power before pushing for significant playing time in the NFL. He also has some durability concerns that could cause him to slip on draft weekend. However, he has enough size, instincts, toughness and football intelligence to potentially develop into a situational two-down contributor at MLB in the NFL.
