Much has been said about the impact Ricky Williams' decision to retire had on Miami last year, but it's important not to overlook Lamar Gordon's season-ending shoulder injury.

Gordon played in just three games after the Dolphins traded a 2005 third-round pick to acquire him from St. Louis in an effort to help replace Williams. The injury, which required offseason surgery, has raised concerns about Gordon's durability, and it doesn't help that he averaged fewer than two yards per carry during those three games.

Although Sammy Morris and Travis Minor did an admirable job of trying to fill in, neither is considered an every-down back capable of carrying a heavy workload. There is an excellent chance Miami drafts a back like Auburn's Cadillac Williams or Texas' Cedric Benson with the second pick overall.
