Auburn QB Jason Campbell's improvement under new coordinator Al Borges resembles the turnaround Carson Palmer made in his senior season under Norm Chow. Campbell isn't nearly as talented as Palmer, and lacks the upside as a pro prospect. But if Campbell continues to progress, his draft stock will climb.
In his first three seasons as a starter, Campbell consistently held onto the ball too long, threw too many passes up for grabs, missed open receivers downfield and overthrew too many of the receivers he did find open.
In the first five games of his senior season, Campbell is making quicker decisions and showing more touch and accuracy. After watching Campbell lead the Tigers to four scoring drives in front of a hostile Tennessee crowd, it felt as if he was an entirely different prospect than the one I had scouted the past three seasons.
