The Texans wanted to play it safe with Chiefs RS-WR Dante Hall. But they weren't going to kick away from him when they faced him in Week Three. There is honor in such a decision, but there also is danger, as Texans special-teams coordinator Joe Marciano recalled last week:
"Our goal was as many times as we punted, to force all fair catches, punt the ball about 45 yards," Marciano said of Hall, who leads the NFL in kickoff-return average. "Our punter (Chad Stanley) - we punted six times -- was five for six.
"Then this son of a buck, he went out there and mis-hit a ball, and it hits the ground and rolls. He picks it up and returns it for a touchdown. That's how good this guy is."
