A look around the Sun Belt

There can be little doubt now that North Texas will remain the only Sun Belt Conference team to visit New Orleans. The Mean Green is 4-0 in conference, having won its 22nd straight Sun Belt game this past Saturday.

What remains in the way of North Texas' fourth consecutive berth in the New Orleans Bowl are games at Louisiana-Lafayette, home against Idaho and at Arkansas State.

It's not as if those are sure victories. Nothing is certain in the Sun Belt, where mediocrity means parity. No one will fall over when North Texas finally does get beat by a Sun Belt team.

That's what makes this streak so impressive -- and makes it so frustrating for the opposing coaches.
