Labels like mid-major and small school exhaust Jeff Bower's patience. The only type of "upset" in Bower's world describes his own reaction to baseless assertions.
To Bower, now in his 14th year at Southern Miss, those terms belittle and downplay what his program has accomplished.
On Saturday, the Golden Eagles became just the seventh team in 16 years to win at Nebraska. Southern Miss forced five Cornhusker turnovers and rallied from a 17-9 third-quarter deficit.
