With starting tailback Duane Coleman missing again this week against Georgia Tech because of injury, the Tigers are being questioned about a running game that was ineffective against Wake Forest.

Or was it?

Coach Tommy Bowden said he heard the criticism and had to remind himself that several dump passes in the Clemson offense are, in effect, running plays, even if they count as passing yardage. "I got to say we're not as bad as the media say we are because I got to add that, that and that into our (passing stats),'' Bowden said.
