COACH AND PROGRAM

Until New Years Eve, 2003, it was a memorable football season at Southern Miss.

The Golden Eagles savored a nine-win regular season. They won their fourth Conference USA title in their eight-year history in the league. They earned their sixth bowl invitation in seven years. Fifteen players landed on all-conference teams and five on various All-America teams.

All in all, it was a great year. Until New Year's Eve.
