Is there such a creature as a quiet off-season for the Tennessee football program?
COACH AND PROGRAM
Maybe it's part and parcel of regularly occupying part of college football's center stage, but the Volunteers attract attention like gnats to a bug zapper.
In 2002, allegations of academic fraud by English professor Linda Bensel-Meyers, the Richard Locke affair that cost the program two scholarships, and stories of loans from an Alabama sports writer to then-quarterback Tee Martin in 1999 swirled around the program.
