When Jim Grobe left Ohio to become head coach at Wake Forest after the 2000 season, the Bobcats appeared to be an up-and-coming team in the MAC.
COACH AND PROGRAM
Maintaining that momentum, however, has been difficult and head coach Brian Knorr found himself at a crossroads after a trying 2003 season that saw his team plagued by injuries and an inability to put the ball in the end zone.
After the season Knorr, a former quarterback and captain on Air Force teams that won four straight bowl games in the 1980s, made the decision to abandon Ohio's triple-option offense in favor of a one-back scheme.
